Wild duck attack!

Mean Egyptian goose.....that causes me to laugh...the joke is they keep them with rhinos because that's about the only thing you can nor kill....they can nest in bushes, up in tree crotches...nest boxes... they will find a way.

Don't know local regs, but dou t you can shoot it this time of year.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it? I've never seen it before and suddenly it appeared and claimed our beach?

Okay so the situation got even stranger. A flock of Canadian geese flew in about a month ago or more and one pair nested and had goslings (the same ones that often hangout on our beach with our ducks with no problem) well today I saw those very same geese and their goslings swimming alongside the Egyptian with no hissing or aggravated noises. I paid closer attention to where it flies off to once shooed away and it flies across the lake to the nesting grounds of the wild geese. Could it be mixed up and think it's a Canadian?

We had another attack. My step father came outside to shoo it away when he heard it but unfortunately we were too late and most of the ducks were already injured. I rushed to secure them in their pen for Safety so I haven't got a good look at all the injuries yet. One rueon has no feathers on back and is covered in blood. A few ducks have a slight limp and almost everyone has blood spots on them which I can't tell is from being by the ruoen or their own injuries. Pictures to come ASAP. Someone please help I can't force my ducks to stay in their pen 24/7

Hes hurt pretty bad any advice please

Okay, first the injuries.

Get some help, holding the ducks. The feathers need to be trimmed around the wound. The wounds can be rinsed with saline solution to clean them off, then sprayed with Blu-Kote if they are not extremely deep, or Vetericyn.

They need to be in, away from flies. Flies will lay eggs in the wounds making the whole thing so much worse. Really. You do not want fly strike. Remember this is just temporary.

If you can get more photo's as you assess the injuries, that will help us come up with ideas.

Only one has a bad wound the rest where just covered in his blood. Can I get blu kote or veterycn at Walmart? Also the only place we could put him is in the garage with our month old runners. There are fewer flies in there but still some will that do?

Update: I found the wound spray and cleaned him off really well in the bath then put it on. He was such a little trooper the whole time! I have faith that he'll make a good recovery and I will keep everyone updated! How often should I put the spray on?

I am very happy to report that he is healing quite nicely!! I've been doing two clean, fresh water baths a day and then spraying him with wound spray after and it's looking much better!
