I posted in another section of the forum and they suggested I post in the duck forum for more help. 7 tiny ducks showed up in our yard yesterday, no mom in sight, they looked frightened but managed to catch them and put in a box. We left them outside chirping in case the mom was nearby, but she never showed up. The strange thing is we live a couple of miles from water, so don't know how they got here. No one in our area is raising ducks, so am sure they are wild. I'll post a picture, but thinking they look like Mallards? Any tips on raising them, they wouldn't eat yesterday, but today some of them are eating a little, and not wanting to drink, I dipped their beaks in water, but they are so frightened it was not working. I put water in their food, trying all kinds of things, just think they are scared. If they are wild will they just fly away once they have grown, its ok if they do, just want them to survive. Any tips would sure help, thanks.

Get chick starter at your local pet store, make sure they have water to swim in. Once they get their flight feathers you can drop them off at a lake ;)

I saved a lone mallard duckling 2 years ago. He left with one of his call duck friends after a year of being with us

What are you feeding them? They may not recognize it as food if it's something mom never showed them.
Where are you located? The best bet for them is to find a wildlife rehab place for assistance. They might have other ducklings or even a foster mom for them.
