wild ducks??? what are they? SW Florida area

These guys have stopped by my pond on a layover. They seam to be resting up and not going into the water other than wetting their feet. They make a high pictched 'squeak' rather than quacking noise.

whatbird.com is really good at providing information on wild birds--also easy to look up and identify birds based upon a variety of things--location, overall type/shape of bird, size, colour, wing shape, lots of other options, too.

They are black bellied whistling ducks.. They pair up for life like geese... The males and the females have two different whistles.. They like shallow water..
They are really neat to watch and listen too..
