Wild earthquake (A buffalo RP)

(I just realized... Thistles group reminds me of a song! XD It's called "Disloyal Order of Water Buffalos" by fall out boy XD)

Jay, getting older now, was intrigued by the explanation of ranks in the herd. He often wondered about the leader, and if he could be in his place someday. Or, perhaps, take Storms place when he becomes leader. He would always keep that goal in mind, and remain loyal to his herd, and strive for perfection, and security for the herd, his family.

(...Oh...Oh no....nooo....NOT FALL OUT BOY AGAIN!!!XD)

June (is that the calf's name?XD) was also getting older, her fur was long and she was ready to get higher in the ranking.

(Isn't it Eliza? lol) Storm was still very strong, still with energy. He could tell Hans was a little bit older, but he would wait, and not be a traitor like thistle. He just kept trying to prove his strength.

Jay, on the other hand, was anxious to try to prove himself for second in command, even though he wasn't even high ranking yet.

Hans wound was basically healed, but there was a big scar. He walked slowly, he was getting old and had arthritis, making walking painful. But he would stay strong for his herd.

Storm tried to help Hans in a my way he could, letting Hans take breaks when they were moving, and forcing the herd to wait for him. Storm enjoyed Hans' leadership.

One day, Hans was having great trouble with even getting up, once he had gotten up he walked over to storm, slowly. He muscles were going away, and his fur was mostly grey and white.

He approached Storm, "Storm, thank you...For being so kind to me. You have always been very loyal, and it helps me, since I'm getting old..." He began,

But, I am afraid that soon, my time will come. And you need to prepare yourself.
I am not quick enough, nor strong enough now to watch over the herd, because with my problems, I will fail.
So...I pass my leadership onto you, Storm. Please, do not fail me. But, I am sure you will try your best. You are strong, and brave, and loyal, and you know right from wrong. But, I will be gone soon, and I have to do what's right for my herd."

He was trembling, his old bones could barely carry him anymore. He had lived longer than expected, and he didn't believe that he'd last any longer.

Storm merely nodded in return. "Then I will make sure your final days are peaceful. We may stay here, only if you'd like, and you may rest. No duty will be your responsibility. " he stated, keeping an even tone, trying his hardest to conceal his excitement and surprise. "If you need anything at all, we will see to your requests right away" he added, lowering his head to Hans. "I promise to try my hardest to maintain this herd, and lead them through both battles from outside and within, and through times of parish or loss. I will guide my herd through the darkest times, with your leadership to remind me to do my best."

Jay was now just fully grown, a very tall and well built buffalo. He wasn't fully mature as any other adult yet, but now carried more responsibility and had the opportunity to move forward in rank.

Hans nodded, "Thank you." He said. "And, please, keep with tradition. It is always best." Hans told him, she slowly walked into the sun and lay down to rest.

Eliza was almost old enough to have offspring, so she tried to make herself very mature and strong to protect her future calves.
Since her father can't really watch the herd, she helped him out and watched for him, she hoped that maybe, if she did a good job, that she'd get a good rank in the herd.

Storm held his head higher now, showing everyone who was boss around here. He finally realized that he needed to pick a new high ranking male, but the only other male was Jay.
He was loyal, and quite strong, now about old enough, Storm decided that he would make a good choice. "Jay" he bellowed.

Jay ran over to Storm, halting a few yards away.

"Jay," he began.

Jay listened excitedly.

"I would like to propose to you, the spot of high ranking bull" He stated calmly, showing no regret in his eyes.

Jay, overcome with joy, happily nodded. "Of course.. It would be an honor.. But shouldn't Hans be the one to ask me?"

Storm was quiet for a moment. "You should go talk to him, he's over there." He said, motioning to Hans with his horns.

Hans looked at the sky, he sighed. He wasn't sad, but confused. What would the herd do? More importantly, would he tell his daughter?
