After a little while, two foals were collapsed on the ground by Calypso's side.
"Twins!?" Windstar pricked her ears forward, both curious and wary. After Diablo had ran her away from Calypso, the dun had merely stood far enough away to be out of the way. "Twins!" she said again.

Sundance opened her eyes sleepily; she'd been dozing. "What?"

Calypso, as exhausted as she was, scrambled up. She nudged her foals. The first one stood up with no help needed. The other one wobbled and swayed. Calypso dipped her head down to catch it if it fell. Tiredly, she looked to Diablo. "One boy. One girl."

Diablo couldn't believe his ears. He was silent, his mouth slightly ajar.

Windstar watched the scene in wonderment. Finally, she turned and headed to a patch of dying grass. Here, she nipped here-and-there, her thoughts muddled. Would she and Sundance one day bear twins for Diablo?

Sundance had fallen asleep again, stretched out on her side.

After Neptune and Saturn had fed, Dawn nuzzled them close to her belly to keep them warm. "Thank you, Sugar," she murmured. She was slightly worried; she'd had trouble making enough milk for Fandance, and with twins, it would be even harder.

She nodded. "Any time! The twins have been growing a liking to grass real early, so I have milk to spare!"

Dawn breathed a sigh of relief. She nodded, murmuring her thanks. She nuzzled Neptune closer, her head wrapped around both of her foals' heads in a protective motherly fashion.
Neptune sunk into his dam's warm embrace, and began to fall asleep.
Sunstreak moved forward a few steps, keeping his head low.

A deep, almost purring sound of joy rumbled deep within Dawn's chest. She cracked an eye open at Sunstreak, nodding to him slowly as she gave him permission to check his foals out. She remained watchful, however she was trusting. Her guard was only her instincts.

Sunstreak simply lay down. Neptune inched out a bit from the warmth of his dam. Overcome by his curiosity, Neptune bounded out to meet his father.
