Cerulean glanced back but kept walking. "You should go back to your foal. Remember...if she's dying, you want to be there."Moon nuzzled her a goodbye. "I love you." he said and reluctantly turned, but turned his head to look back at them.

Cerulean had been serious; she'd lost the angry edge in her temper, but she didn't feel right returning to Moon's herd after blurting out how she actually felt. Not very far away, a perlino mare was fast asleep, hidden by a jumble of grasses. Rain-heavy, the seed heads leaned earthward, those that hadn't been eaten, anyway.
Cerulean stopped as she lost sight of the stream. This was as good a place as any to rest. She nickered to her twins, saying, "Get some sleep. I'll stand watch."Chocolate splashed into the cold water that almost came up to her neck.
Moon rolled over onto his side and fell asleep.

Turquoise curled-up and was asleep in minutes.
Jostled from her slumber, Moon Raven lifted her head, her mane wet and matted against her neck. If she'd been dreaming about horses, why did she still smell them now that she was awake? Anxious, the perlino whinnied, listening for a reply.
(Moon must not be listening. i'd get confused if a Moon Raven was in his herd, anyway)Chocolate laid down beside Turquoise.
Chocolate began to snore loudly.(Moon must not be listening. i'd get confused if a Moon Raven was in his herd, anyway)
Cerulean stood watch over her twins, lowering her head to graze occasionally.
Moon Raven climbed to her hooves and started walking. She paused to shake the rainwater away then kept walking.
