We have a pair of wild mallards on our pond. I noticed the female laid 2 eggs in a muddy spot surrounded by some tufts of tall grass, but I have not seen her sitting on them at all. Is this normal?? My husband thinks the eggs must be "bad" but I am assuming she knows what she is doing. I told him usually she will lay a few more then sit on them.
