He perked right up hahaMaybe Nibblers wouldn’t have minded another lady friend.
Your stories always make me smile hahaToday the wild ducks caused a surprising problem:
It was cold and very breezy the whole day here and everybody was so excited when their mallards did their fly-over, all ducks were excitedly flapping their wings, a sudden gust hit and most of them became unexpectedly airborne, the Magpies over ten feet high!
Now taking off is one important part being able to fly, the other two are maneuvering and safe landing…
The Magpies landed outside of the fenced-in area, frantically trying to get back in, the White Layers muffed up the landing and now one of them is limping very bad.
I looked at her, the usual »Help the axe murder got me!!!« cries, fortunately nothing seems to be broken, her legs and hip looks fine, she is just in pain, so i assume it is a sprain. She was already feeling better after the Axe-Murderer gave her a handful of duck-crack…![]()
But whow! What a crazy incident. Hopefully they have learned their lesson: "I am a domestic duck and i am not supposed to fly!"
Right now she is sitting under the heat-lamp in the duck-house, bill tucked under her wing and sleeping.
Well i laughed too - at first…Your stories always make me smile haha
Yeah i bet it was a big surprise for everyoneWell i laughed too - at first…
Those poor predators! I was there too and would have used my ten deadly weapons (fingers) to protect my babies!Good thing it happened quick and no predators were standing on the other side of the fence where they landed with fork and knife in hand.
