wild Mallards visited my yard this morning!

I saw out of the corner of my eye this morning what looked like my ducks landing in my yard. But my ducks are penned and I paniced thinking uh oh- how'd they get out?
I looked closer and it was a Mallard pair...beautiful and calmly checking out our yard. We don't have a pool or pond, just the baby pools in the various pens for our ducks and geese. They were so fun to watch and photograph. They waddled around for awhile and then went out back. I heard our guineas sound the alarm calls and up up and away the Mallards flew. Boy can they fly!
Well, not a biggie, but it was enough to brighten my morning!
I'll post pics later...they are in my camera now and I have to get dinner on the table.

Congrats! They are some beautiful and they fly like crazy!!!

We have a mallard pair that visits quite frequently and has hatched two broods in a tree stump in front of our kitchen window

I raised a male and female pair of mallards that flew away this past Fall. Those must be them because they looked just like ones in your picture.
