I was looking for some help. I live on Wares Creek. We have a lot of birds and ducks here. Which we don’t feed but they love to come onto our yard to eat. We don’t fertilizer our yard just mow it. More weeds then grass. A Mother duck was run over yesterday. She left 4 ducklings. They are about 8 or 10 weeks old. They are on our sea wall. Cleaning themselves. We are not sure how to help them. We will put out fresh water. I am hoping that their Mother has showed them around enough so they can help themselves. We may have some raccoons around. We live in Florida so there is a lot of nTural food around for them. Is there any other way we can help them.

If they are old enough/big enough to be fully feathered with adult feathers, they will probably be ok on their own. They might not be good at flying yet, but I'm sure they are good at swimming. If you wanted to provide something in your yard that would make a good hiding spot for them, they might use it, but I'm not sure there's anything else you can really do at this point. Fortunately ducklings at that age can be pretty independent.

Thank you for replying . We have watched as they were growing up and Mom was good about showing them places to hide. They have their feathers. One still has a little yellow on it.
