Well its spring time and tunnyhe wild onions are all over my yard. I like to give my chickens grass clippings but i was wondering if the wild onion stems would make the eggs taste funny. Has anyone ran across this?

Wild onions always made our milk cow's milk taste off when I was a kid. My chickens don't free-range but I would think if they ate enough of it, it could make them taste a little weird.

My hens don't even give it a second look, I built a run for them and they ate all the grass and weeds and all that remains is the wild onions.

My hens actively seek out the wild onions. I've seen them eating the greens, the white flowers and even nibbling at the bulbs after digging them up. I haven't noticed any taste change in the eggs. There are no safety issues with them eating onions, correct?
