I have a sewer drain pipe for my RV. Sometime this winter the cover disapeared. Now there is a young rabbit living down in the pipe and I need to find a way to get and keep it out long enough to get a new cover on the pipe. I don't want to do anything that will kill the rabbit, mostly because I don't want it to die in the pipe and cause a clog. Any ideas? I've tried the live traps but it avoids them.

Rabbits like to graze morning and evening so maybe wait until he comes out and approach from the direction of the drain pipe and get between him and the pipe. You could also put out some watermelon rind or something tasty in your yard a bit away from the pipe so as to lure him away so you can get the cover on.

I've tried that. I don't know what it is surviving on because I've never seen it more than a few feet from the drain pipe. Being in the desert there isn't much available in one spot. I guess it's getting water from the septic tank because I have no open water within reach of a rabbit, of course the wild rabbits out here don't seem to drink much.

Maybe put a box trap over the drain. The type with a line attached to a stick so when the bunny comes out of the hole you pull the line and the box drops over the hole and prevents him from getting back in. You're not so much trapping the rabbit as you are trapping the drain so he can't get in anymore.
