I found 3 baby turkeys in my field today... The mom got eaten. I have seen lots of other polts with their moms but they were bigger. These are just little like 4 week olds... Can I keep them and raise them?
Well, untl you figure out your other options you might want to pick up a bag of Gamebird Starter (or a whole mess of mealworms) and feed `em that (any poultry feed will do in a pinch but they do need the protein).
Only NY law I can find:
New York
A person may obtain a license to collect or possess fish, wildlife, shellfish, crustacea, aquatic insects, birds' nests or eggs for propagation, scientific or exhibition purposes; a person may be required to submit written testimonials from two well-known persons and file a bond of $200.00 prior to license approval. Fee $10.00.
You might want to contact the local conservation agent and ask about the legalities and what they have in the way of wildlife rescue (varies from state to state).
Contact wilds of pa. Charlie is very knowledgable about the rules and regulations regarding WET in Pennsylvania. We have four youngster growing out now, but we bought the eggs from a breeder so I'm not much help.
