Wild Wyandottes! What should I do?

The wyandottes will let me get around three feet from them, then they will slowly go the other direction.

So just herd them. Choose where you want them (maybe a fenced area with a gate that closes). Then walk such that when the chickens walk away from you they are going toward the place you want them. Keep it calm, walking not running. Having a helper or two might help, but only if everyone stays calm.

Once you've got them in an enclosed space, close the door/gate. It's much easier to catch them (or just feed/water/tame them without actual catching.)

Or, if you know where they sleep at night, go grab them after dark.

If you do catch them, remember to quarantine them from your current birds. Good luck!
Thanks! I have two large dog kennels that I use for that. :D

Good ideas! Maybe I could bring our smaller moveable dog kennel for cornering?

I saw the neighbor again, she's actually really nice! She asked if I had any luck with the chickens... she's completely on my side! Maybe if I could get her to talk to my parents about it... that would help!

Oooh... another question, can anyone tell how old the birds are from the pictures? My mother made a piont that they may have been abandoned purposefully because they stopped laying.
They are definitely of laying age! But I can’t tell exactly so it might be a possibility that they stopped laying but I’m not too sure about taht.

A net would be a fine idea, though they can be difficult to use and u could hurt them by accident, especially if the holes are big enough to get their necks caught or even some of their toes! I think if you want to use a net u may want to get help from your parents to use it, but I wouldn't worry about them getting tramatized with you catching them by hand, I'd much more be worried about them getting eaten by coyotes before you can catch them! So u should try and do it before tonight.

True, but my grandma has caught wild young hens and they never laid eggs for her because they were traumatized. Just a thing to think about. And you obviously wouldn’t use a net with too big of holes.
