Pics
Lately I've been trying to get a good picture of the summer tananger who keeps visiting a mulberry tree to eat little green worm things(yup, great description, I know). Of course I always find something I wish I did better afterwards. The lighting also hasn't been bright enough for perfectly sharp pictures, but these are the best ones that I've got so far.

How did you get so close? Those are amazing pictures!
He was VERY cooperative. I started out about 25 yards away but I ended up around 10 yards when I took those pics. I actually had to zoom out to 300mm to get those shots and they are uncropped. He stood still for so long I moved the focus point in camera to the upper right third to get them composed right instead of cropping later.

Here's a pic I took with my phone when he was 15-20 yards away. It was actually a little challenging to get him composed good. I had to crouch down about halfway to get his head in the grass. Too low and I could see the fence and house in the background. Too high and his head was in the rocks.

Great pictures of the tanager! They're one of my favorite birds. I saw a couple Scarlet Tanagers today but we have both in the summer here.

Your pictures always look so professional! I got a picture of some geese myself today, though it was in the harsh afternoon light. I couldn't find them this morning. I've heard that there's a nesting killdeer by the goose pond, but I haven't looked. Maybe I'll try getting a picture of it, though it might be hard not to bother it.

Here are today's pictures:

Coyote. It's the only coyote picture I've got, though I would like to eventually get another one.

All lovely photos!
I can’t believe you guys have goslings by you already!! We had a late spring and I’ve been dying to see the baby ducks and goslings. I go to the pond almost every day with my camera just waiting to see some 😂

Love the coyote picture btw!

There are a decent number baby ducks and goslings here! I saw some wood ducks with five ducklings, though I don't think they're accessible for photos. I feel like the spring here has come way too early, though. The majority of our tulips abandoned their buds and never bloomed. Also, this afternoon was incredibly hot; I was sweating and that coyote was panting like crazy.

Wow, lucky!
It literally just got warm here. Last week was probably in like the 40’s/lower 50’s and rainy. Then suddenly yesterday it was in the 60’s, today was 70’s and in the next week we have days in the 80’s.
That’s unfortunate, I’m still waiting for my tulips to come up! The daffodils have buds on them, but that’s it. Everything else is just starting to come to life. The trees are still super bare.
I think all the waterfowl here just started sitting on their nests.
But yeah, I’m thankful for the baby goose pictures. I’ll just live vicariously through you guys while I wait for the babies to arrive here.😆
