Will 26 weekers skip laying 'til spring?

im not sure exactly how old mine are but we bought them * on the point of lay* (alledgedly!) in July

One started laying in september, one in october and this week 2 more have started laying. so even though the days are closing in and winter approaches they are still starting to lay

I've got 21 hens - and the first egg came at week 21. At week 27, I now have 8 laying. I wondered the same thing - with the days so short, I wasn't sure if any of them would lay this year. But about 1/3 of them are laying right now. Hope it keeps up! They don't get additional lighting - but they free range all day.

I have 2 pullets that began laying 2 weeks ago and have not missed a day yet (Isa Browns). I have a year and half old hen who, after a 4 month break/molt, resumed laying 2 days ago. My RIR pullet's comb is turning red and looks to be getting ready to lay. I bet you will be in eggs this winter!

Well, late yesterday afternoon I noticed that the two EEs in the little girl coop were checking out the nest boxes. Pooh went in and rummaged about, sat for a while and then came back out. Maybe she's on the verge.

I really want the welsummers to pop something out. I'm dying to see how dark their eggs are in comparison to the other browns I'm getting.
