Hi,

I have a Black Australorp who's been sitting for over a month. I waited until she was locked down and put 7 eggs under her on Easter Sunday. Obviously nothing is happening (I'll need to talk to my rooster about a few things

) so I'm wondering if I slip a few day-old peeps under her at night if she'll accept them. A Southern States near me said they have sexed Easter Eggers coming in today or tomorrow.

Thanks!!

There is a good chance if you slip them under her at night that she will accept them. Just watch her close in the A.M.

Thanks for the reply!

I think I'll go ahead and try it. I feel so badly for the poor clucker. The first time she went broody was in the middle of all those huge snow storms this winter. It took forever for her to give up, so when she got serious again we set up a whole broody house and area for her. I can't believe none of her clutch are viable, but what are ya gonna do?
