Will A Chicken Lay A Egg If Scared?

Strange ..... My chickens aren't fazed one bit by loud noises ! My home shooting range is about 20 yards from the coop and run, and I shoot quite a bit. I've even have to shoo them away when they come over to see what I'm doing !

I also hammer, use power tools, and and run very loud, heavy equipment and such, past the chickens frequently, with no effect to the flocks behavior.

The chickens previous owner shot a lot as well, so maybe they were conditioned to the noise at a early age.?

Makes sense. Exposure leads to reduced fear. My hens certainly aren't upset by the lawnmower as it rumbles by, as they hear it from spring through fall.
