Silicone won't hurt... but the solvents used in silicone caulk = a no go.

I am a retired carpenter.. when we got a bleeding type of cut on the job we just smeared silicon caulk on the cut. it usually stopped the bleeding and made a tight bandage that would last for a couple of days..it stung at first..LOL
