Will a hen that molted ever lay again?

I purchased this beautiful Buff Orphington from a poultry swap in August of this year. I was told that she was born last spring (april) so she is 18 mos. old. I was told that she molted and should be laying within the week. We have had her for 8-10 weeks, with no sign of an egg.

Is this normal?
When will she lay again?
Will the daylight change effect her now?
How long does this process last-i have read could be 6 weeks+.

She could be older than they said. The other possibility is that she will start laying soon. Sometimes it takes a while.
