Will a nearly adult rooster recognize which chicks are male and which chicks are female when it's time to combine them?

Right now my new chicks are about 3 to 5 weeks away before I will be combining them with my existing flock of 8 month old one cockrell and two pullets.

This group of four, presumably soon-to-be hens, that I will be adding to the eight-month-old flock are golden comets so there a sex linked variety and supposedly I have females.

The part I was wondering about though is when it comes to the day where I combine the chicks who will be either 10 or 12 weeks around the time I try the combining;. Will the Cockerel who will be about nine months old or so by then be able to recognize female from male and if so would there be any obvious Cockerel behavior that I could have serve, which would might tip me off that maybe one of the new chicks is not a female? So far they're all growing at the same rate I may seem to match the color profile for females for Golden comets. But I was just wondering aloud whether at nine month old rooster would be able to tell whether the 10 or 12 week old chicks had a male amongst them?

Usually they don’t start trying to mate with pullets until they’re almost ready to lay eggs.

Golden Comets are sex linked. Males are yellow and females are a buff bronze color with stripes. There’s no confusing male and female chicks when they’re sex links.

It's great to hear that a number of times. :) especially after the fiasco I had with the vents sexed Easter eggers where half of them were male and the other two were female. I didn't even know there was such a thing as sex-linked until I started looking up for something that was a little more dependable in terms of getting what you were looking to pay for. :) thanks again for yours and the responses of the others - very reassuring!!!

I love my red sex links! They’re amazing and very good layers

Ummm.....not common.
A good cockerel won't mate an immature pullet.
Cockerels become sexually active a couple months younger than pullets lay,
it can be a nightmare.

I have had 15 cockerels and roosters in 6 years and none of them have ever jumped a pullet that isn't point of lay. So it is common for me.

That’s how I know if I have POL pullets 😂

So far it’s worked well they lay within a week after Ozzy or Rocky go after them.
Only had that work here once, mature cock left the girls alone until they were 'ready'.
All the cockerels started harassing the pullets at about 12- 14 weeks,
right before they went into the freezer.
