Will a showgirl brood nothing when their are eggs in the next nest?

I went into the coop today, and my showgirl was hanging out in the nest box. I felt under her, and there were no eggs. So I picked her up and put her on top of the three eggs in the next nest box. She is normally very skittish around me, and wouldn't want me to grab her a lot. Her wings are also kinda down. I went in there a few minutes ago to see if she was still sitting on them, and she was. There was one egg that was sticking out from under her a little bit. She isn't organizing the eggs that I put under her, or attacking me when I touch her. So, my main question is: is she broody or sick? She wasn't sitting on any eggs in the nest box before I moved her. Would she be that dumb to go broody on no eggs when there were eggs in the next nest box over?

Thanks,
Debbie

If she is truly broody she will sit on air, meaning nothing under her! Keep an eye on her and if she is there day and night you have a broody hen.

perhaps she is attracted to the egg so her broody sense went up and finally you got a broody hen.
