Orpingtons are very sweet and friendly. they do great in cold but dont like too much heat, so depends on where you live. Im in Maryland, I love my orpington hens![]()

Consider building a large coop that offers at least 4 sq ft per bird with large overhangs on the roof then make the top half of one or more wall open air by not siding it but instead securing 1/2" hardware cloth to the pressure treated studs instead.I live in North Florida so the heat is the worst.
