Will by new broody take chicks?

I have a hen that just went broody.... one week ago! My local feed store will be getting their last shipment of chicks TODAY. I usually wait three weeks before slipping baby chicks under my broodies but it is so late in the season and this might be my last chance at finding chicks.

Do you think she will take the chicks even though she has only been broody for a week?

if it helps my broody was in about 2.5 weeks when a friend offered 2 week old chicks we took the chance and took 3 of them. It worked! Maybe if you wait a week and keep the chicks indoors for a week……. just a thought.
