Will Changing Nesting Boxes Cause a Coup in the Coop?

And, you know they hate any change, you'll have to outsmart them to use the new nests.

That's asking a lot. I am not my sharpest lately. Work is killing me slowly. Sucking out my very soul.....

Still haven't fully implemented them, but I need to because Poppy, my BO, has gone broody and goes full velociraptor whenever anyone gets near the box she's commandeered.

I'm thinking the new boxes are too small. I will probably take the 3 and reconfigure it to be 2. They are 11 wide x 12 deep x 14 high. The ones they started with are 17 wide x 11 deep x 14 high. I can pretty easily make the new ones 17 wide x 12 deep x 14 high. Then the new ones will be comparable to the old.

Thoughts? Advice? I have 4 pullets, so I know 2 boxes are plenty. But chicken math. I have 3 chicks coming in June, and I'm considering seeing if Poppy will adopt if she stays broody until spring break.
