Will chicken eat pumpkins

They'll ignore a whole pumpkin because of the tough skin. Same for watermelon, muskmelon, bananas, etc.
I use a machete to hack the pumpkin into pieces and they spend the day eating it. But if the flesh side ends up facing down, they ignore it.

Mine all eat seeds, guts, raw, baked, steamed. The first few times they were hesitant with raw pumpkin. They eventually ate seeds and guts, pecked at raw pumpkin when I cracked it open. They love cooked and baked pumpkins. After a couple of years they eventually pecked whole pumpkin

My chickens love pumpkins (I just cut them in half for them). They don't eat the outside part so that get's tossed.

Chickens are able to eat pumpkins and should love them :)
Mine love pumpkins and squash.

Our chickens love pumpkin and squash of all kinds. We carve a face and cut the top off like you normally do, then cut one side down a little bit so they can get their heads in there. They will eat the seeds and pulp, so don't remove them. They may look at it funny at first, but then they will explore. Greens and produce are very good for them, will give them important vitamins and minerals and enzymes, plus its fun for them to try different things.

Lord, I had to wait two days for my dingy rooster to stop flogging the first one. I figured i'd let him kill it and share it with the girls. I didn't plan on a pumpkin being tougher than him.:gig
My chickens are on like there 23rd pumpkin this year, needless to say they love them. The first time I gave them a pumpkin they were sure it was an orange Death Star that was going to disintegrate them.

My chickens love pumpkin as long as I bust it open for them. Apparently they don’t want to do any of the dirty work and make mom do it

Right! I don't think they recognize it as food until you do.

I quarter mine leaving a small section by the stem intact so I can easily carry it out toe the run. Then I break it open and put the quadrants in different parts of the run so that there isn't competition.

As someone else said above, the seed and webbing go fast. The flesh can last days. But mine eventually get it down to the skin.

Ours love pumpkin raw or cooked. Will eat down to the skin. Usually at this time of year, any farm selling pumpkins for Halloween will sell their pumpkins for very cheap to get rid of them. Farm near me will sell for $1 any pumpkin remaining, so a good deal.
