I am in my rookie season of home poultry.
I have 6 white leghorn pullets 37 days old and very lively, healthy and rambunctious. I also have 4 guineas 29 days old and skiddish. They have both been in the coop outside for a week and I would like to let the chickens out in the yard for an hour or so soon to see how they do. I do not have a run, am going to let them free range. How do I convince them to come back in when i want them to? I don't want to let the guineas out yet, probably not for a few weeks, so I can't leave the little door open.
Will they come just because I am there?
Should I wait and let them all get a taste of freedom at the same time?
