Hey everyone, just curious if anyone knows the answer to that! I lost my Norwegian Jaerhon rooster a few months back, so I've got the hen in with my Icelandic breeding pair. I've been throwing all her eggs into the 'bator, and I'm curious if I can expect the chicks to be auto-sexing or not.

I think it would really depend on the mix and would not be an exact science.
So far all the chicks are hatching dark and the same colour, with some having a white dot on their heads and others just solid colour on their heads. I think it's pretty safe to say that the trait is being passed on! :) Now the waiting game to see if the white dots are the boys or the girls! In the purebred NJ, the males have a white full hood while the females have a white patch, so my guess is the white spotted ones in the cross are the boys ;)
