Will daily handling effect egg production?

My son likes to hold our d'Uccle hen and watch cartoons after school for about an hour. Basically she sits on his lap quietly then I take her back outside to her pen. Will this adversely effect her laying eggs? We just got the pair a few days ago and I was told they were held a lot.

If they are used to being held, then probably not. Just as long as he's gentle and doesn't handle her TOO much, then it should be fine. Stress will cause egg production to drop, so as long as she's comfortable, you should be good! Have fun!

If they've been handled a lot and it's not stressing her, it shouldn't affect her production. It may take a few days or so for them to start laying again since you just got them, though.
