will drakes fight ??

Can i have more then one drake or will the drakes fight?? im getting duck, different breeds buut im going to have them all free range together will this not be good to have 3 or 4 males ?????

Mine fight all the time. They really are not ad vicious as roosters though...rarely draw blood. I think they mostly fight when it is breeding season but do have squabbles now and then. Usually about a GIRL! (I think ALL boys are like that though.

) If you have enough hens a few drakes together should be fine. I have muscovies, runners and roen(SP?) if that makes a difference....Terri O in WI

I have 12 ducks (6 males, 6 females) different breeds, the males fight all the time.....so far it's been minor.

The only time mine fight is during breeding season.

ETA: I have only calls which have a relatively short breeding season where I live.

Mine have usually not been too bad. I have, however, had two recently that fight incessantly. They simply will *not* stop fighting and they have plenty of room and are in with ten hens. As others have said, they generally don't do much, if any, damage to each other. I separated my two that were going at it though. Generally though, I have not had a lot of issues with drake aggression, but I keep them with plenty of hens and raise them together usually from babies.
