Will Geese girdle trees?

Well, principles may cost you money, but at least they won't cost you your self respect.

I sure hope I like raising geese, they are starting to be a pain and I haven't even bought them yet.

Geese are wonderful creatures, I'm sure you'll love them. Kudos to you for "doing your homework" on them before buying them!

Too many people aquire pets knowing nothing about them. That will lead to dissapointment, negligence sometimes bordering on animal cruelty, and eventually disposing of the poor creatures someway.

Wow--I dont have any geese, but I sure enjoy going to the lake to feed/watch them. It sounds like they are a lot of work. I had no idea they chewed and destroyed so many things. I think I'll stick to the "wild" geese at the lake

Good luck finding a new source...an snobby goose owner? I thought that was only "horse people".

Our two have feed down all the time. I even hand feed them once or twice a day. They like that! They still eat/chew EVERYTHING, bushes, trees, bromeliads even chew at the course above ground roots of a huge palm tree. They chew stuff I never dreamed they would like to eat. And it can’t be because they are hungry.

With that said, they eat the lower leaves off the Cumquat bushes but they don’t touch the bark. They don’t chew on the Pecan tree bark either. YET!
