Do you think chick hatcheries would close down because of the coronavirus?

Mcmurrey hatchery says they don't plan on closing, but our governor had been forcibly closing businesses. So there's no guarantee.

That would imply a bird flu. Are you suggesting Amazon is closing too?

Due to daycare being closed and other factors forced upon working Americans it's true work places that are open will operate with a skeleton crew. Worst case hatcheries would only be shipping large orders to feed stores.

No I don't think anyone is implying they would stop shipping because of the birds being sick, but if it continues to spread and USPS workers are less dependable/sick, it would be in their best interest to stop shipping as they could take longer to get to their new homes and there could be far more dead loss than usual. That wouldn't be good for anyone.

Here, our day cares are being told to stay open, and actually, Amazon did briefly shut down to everything except medical supplies.

Did you get your package from Amazon today? I thought so. USPS and UPS are working just fine.
Not yet today, it's a bit early, but I do a lot of shopping online (always, not because of this) and I've had 4 packages get lost and take an extra 3-6 days to be delivered which is abnormal and would have led to dead chicks.

My 2 baby goslings are coming next week from California, and I'm really hoping they get here alive... We live 30 minutes from any town and the small towns we live by are inadequately stocked at any time, so I've always bought some things online, and you are right shipped items are taking longer. Our post office didn't deliver mail at least 3 times this winter so its no far stretch to see that this could happen, however at this time it doesn't seem likely. :)
