Will Hawks Attack With Someone Right There?

Ive bought a pellet gun. that hawk is going down if it's anywhere near me or my chickens... I have every right to protect my chickens and myself.

Unfortunately I understand the frustration on both sides.

The laws get brought in when a species is endangered, but once that species becomes common again (and a problem) the law gets removed. In the UK we have had this happen with several species of birds of prey.

I would not shoot the bird, I would frighten it.. severely. Wild animals can't afford to become injured, so they avoid confrontation.

That usually works with wild animals & they rarely return. They have good memories & unless they realize the pickings are not easy & there is a risk of injury or death, they will continue to return.
