Will I get more chicks??

21 days ago I put my broody on a clutch of 13 eggs that I had collected over a week or 2. Today I found her with 4 chicks and a bunch of unhatched eggs. I thought she was done but she took the chicks and set back on the nest....Isn't that strange behavior?Do you think I may get a few more to hatch? does she know if any eggs are still viable?

Thanks, BTW I crossed a pure Ameracauna with CBM and Wellsummers trying to get an olive layer...Do you think this will work?

This is not unusual behavior for a broody hen. Hens will sometimes set on eggs for up to three days after the first chicks have hatched. If any of the eggs have not hatched by the 25th day, I would remove them from the nest box and discard them. You could certainly get an Olive Egger from your Ameraucana X Welsummers/CBMs.

OK its day 22 and i got 2 more today. one nice and spunky and the other alive...but just barely it seems...more like a chicken coma.
I figured I'd check on it tomorrow am, I'm not expecting to find it alive.
