Will I regret doing the interior ceiling like this?

My main concern is ease of cleaning & I am SO TIRED OF PAINTING this thing. I had some of this reflectix insulation already and thought I'd see how this looked before I started laying down another coat of paint on the ceiling to make it as shiny/smooth as the wall.

I don't mind the appearance at all, but I'm worried about how it will hold up once I've got chickens living in there. (Babies will be brooding inside the house this November)

Those half-walls are 48" high and the roosts will be 38" high, how high up should I be prepared for droppings to splatter???

Do you think large dual purpose (Speckled sussex) chickens will jump up and try to tear that stuff down if I leave it installed only this high up the "wall"? Or would you recommended I do the entire ceiling in this foil insulation and tape up all the seams so there is nothing for them to grab on to?

If I go with this plan, I'll be dusting the "wall ledge" with diatomaceous earth before I staple up any more foil insulation (just to deal with any creepy crawlers that might try to set up shop behind the foil sheathing) but would I be inviting a mold nightmare? I have a mechanical ventilation fan that will be providing 12 air exchanges per hour. (Coop designed for 36 chickens)

Should I just apply a little more icy hot to my shoulders and keep painting over my head? Or is this reflective foil the perfect solution it feels like it might be??

Thanks for any thoughts!

If they can reach it they'll peck holes in it. Maybe destroy it.
Nice looking coop.
So 1 vote for more painting - I was afraid of this lol (and thanks, I've been saving up for YEARS for this crazy chicken lady dream to come true :)

We have this type of insulation on our garage door interior, it has holes pecked in it from the hens, they were allowed in during winter sometimes 😊 You could cover the insulation with that thin plywood if you want the coop insulated. But then you'd be painting it 🤣
