My sister in law gave us 3 eggs on May 4th. She has a few roosters we don't. It was our daughter christening so we left them in the oven (off) over night and place them in the coop on the 5th. I put a red x on each so I knew which ones they were. The hens where on and off them in the beginning. For a few weeks now one of our hens has been laying on them barely eating (probably since May 11+/-). Yesterday (June 8) we still had not seen any signs of hatching. Beings it has been 4+ weeks we decided to get the eggs. I waited for her to leave the box but she was still in the coop when I grabbed the egg. She turned to run and peck at me (odd for her because you can pet all my chickens) I was startled and dropped 2 of the eggs. One of the eggs the shell popped of, Membrane intact and I could see something moving. I didn't know what to do, so I just put it back with the other possible fertile egg and she sat right back on them. Will the chick survive? Is there anything I can do? She is still on them now. I feel so horrible, all the research I did online said 21days so we figured they were all bad :-( my SIL told me just to leave it and Henrietta would know what to do.
