Will Mama of 3-4 week old take on new hatchling?

Hello all! I have a black australop who hatched a chick July1. Now I have one more hatchling due any day now but the mom sitting on it is a jerk & will teach the baby to be a jerk... (Mom is an EE, baby probably too)

Can I put the new chick under the other hen at night... Will she raise both chicks or is it too much of an age Gap? I have a separate coop for babies/Mama.

Too much of an age gap and a threat to other hen regarding protecting her own. Maybe she just upset she don’t have a baby. My mom was mean and I turned out great! Lol

I think the age gap is too big, I would be afraid she would hurt or potentially kill the new chick.
