when will my BB red hen possibly start to lay eggs and go broody i know she is too young i just wanna be prepared and about how many eggs is good enough for her to hatch if she does go broody

At the top of this page is a box with the word, "BREEDS". If you click on this and do some searching you will find information for what you want. Most hens do well with 12 eggs to brood. If the eggs are larger than less eggs can be brooded. There should not be more eggs than the hen can cover easily. Too many eggs and they will all become chilled at some point during incubation and less chicks will be the result. With broody hens fewer eggs is better. I believe that it is a poor idea to put smaller eggs under a larger hen; eggs and chicks get crushed and/or broken.
