Will my chickens comb reattach

Here is my rooster he was pretty beat up and was bleeding and was in shock when I found him but he has gotten much better. There is some dryed blood on his comb and feathers but once he fully recovers I'm going to give home a nice warm bath. Sorry I could not get a good photo but i put a line of where it's not attached.

Wow, he looks better than I expecelted. I think he will be fine, but no, it will probably not reattach. Worst case, it could die and fall off, but it looks pretty plump and red, so I doubt that.
Does the goo have antibiotics? If not, I’d try a triple antibiotic ointment if you have it. Good luck!

I had a low in the pecking order hen get into a tussle with the top girl last year.

A comb injury resulted.

Here are some “before” and after pictures. It did heal but took quite a bit of time.

Also I had to keep her separated for weeks as everytime I tried to reintegrate her the top hen targeted her immediately.

Finally had to put the bad one in time out for several days to adjust her attitude.

It was a process that requires patience to say the least.

It did heal completely but is now off to the side.
Very jaunty.

Excellent pictures stacyj.
Thanks. I’ll add here that
I did try some ways to reattach it.
Super glue- which I’ve had good luck with on other parts of the body ...
it wasn’t effective in this application due to the weight and flexibility of the comb I think. Perhaps if it had been a tear anywhere on the comb besides the root....
Every time she shook her head the glue would break free. :barnie

Then an hour later I gave up on that and put some stitches in to anchor it.
While the process wasn’t bad, it only lasted 1 day on one side and 2 days on the back and other side.
She kept scratching at it with her claws. :barnie:he

Finally I gave up and removed the remaining stitches and focused on keeping it clean and medicated.

It WAS a bloodbath however when I discovered her injury!:th

Thanks staceyj for those pics, I'm glad your hen recovered fully. I have another question. I am keeping my bantam rooster with the comb Injury separate from the other rooster. I'm going to have to get rid of the big one since he keeps starting the fight. But will the rooster that is separate still be the head of the flock once the other one is gone and he can be with his hens again, he was here before the big rooster and these were his hens but know the big rooster has taken over. Will the hens still like the bantam rooster. :fl

Once the big roo is out of the picture things should go back to normal.

Update on my rooster, I was wondering if it was normal for him slot stop crowing and also I dont think he is eating. I tryed putting his food in water and feeding with a syringe but it did not work. How should I her him to eat.
