I have a pair of Africans. I am 100% sure that they are a pair. The goose has been laying For a while now and has about 18 eggs in her nest! I thought tht was a lot, but this is my first pair of geese. Do you think I should do something with the eggs or do you think she will go broody???

I have white chinese - mine did not go broody until their second year.

I would removed 8-10 of the eggs, mark the remaining with the date, and then start dating the eggs she is currently laying (removing the older eggs as she lays new eggs). If she goes broody, she will stop laying and you only want her sitting on the freshest of eggs.

When mine start laying, I write on the eggs. I simply number them each day, then keep track in my calander that egg 1 is day whatever. When she gets to ten, I start picking up the oldest egg each time she adds a new one. That way when she gets ready to lay, she has the ten freshest eggs.

You can break open the eggs you pick up each day. If you find the bullseye, start adding them to your incubator if you want.

Well shortly after I made this post/ topic thing I went to check on her and she was sitting! She has been sitting for at least 2 days now!!!I took some the oldest/ dirtiest eggs out.
