Anxiously awaiting a call from the post office. I've got 5 chicks ordered from My Pet Chicken and I can't wait for them to get here! I ordered them in early July and they were scheduled to ship yesterday. Oh will the phone ever ring????

Let's see if I can remember without getting my order sheet out....

1 Buff Orpington
1 Black Australorp
1 Rhode Island Red
1 Easter Egger
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte

There I think I did it and maybe even spelled them correctly!!

Don't they say variety is the spice of life?!

Now where are they Mr. Postman???

I know how you feel! My new ones are supposed to be mailed out tomorrow and I'm already on pins and needles! I have 14 chickens already, and now getting 10 more, plus the 6 eggs under my broody Silkie. Has anybody told you how addictive these things are????? We started out thinking 5-10 would be PLENTY

I'm getting:

Light Brahmas
Buff Orpingtons
Easter Eggers
Golden Sex Links

Oh I don't have any yet and already want more. I probably won't be able to expand much as I'm in a subdivision that I need to keep a low profile. There's no county restrictions but the subdivision has very old but still applicable restrictions against "fowl" of any kind for any reason. Can't get much more specific than that! I just hope when my little ones grow up, they sing their egg songs with "indoor voices"!

My neighbors do know about the chickens and the one neighbor I thought would be the most problematic said she actually enjoys chickens and even likes to hear a rooster crowing! She says that now but I bet her opinion would change if I had a rooster waking her husband up every morning with his variable schedule.

You are going to enjoy your Lt Brahmas. I got 8 Lt Brahamas chicks in the spring and they have quickly become my favorite. Im sure I will get roasted for this but my other birds are: White Rocks, Blue/Splash Cochins, Blue Silkies, Red Pile OEG, & Seramas. The Brahamas are very laid back, they will follow you around, like to be picked up & petted, and are just fantastic. I am a bit suprised about how slow mine have grown especially for being such a huge bird.

I got my three today from My Pet Chicken. I had originally 4 chicks from someone and 3 turned out to be Roosters, so I have 1 4 month old EE chicken and 1EE rooster(soon to find a new home) and now I have 2 day old ..1 Buff Orp and 2 Silver Wyandottes....soo cute and snuggly!

Hopefully by now you have recieved you chirping package!

Oh I will and I also need to get pics up of the coop construction. It's almost finished after what feels like forever! But oh this is all so much fun and I don't even have any chickens yet! I'll be a true "crazy chicken lady" once I actually HAVE chickens.
