Will my Roosters mount my Turkey hens?

I only have 2 turkeys... and they just started laying... they are still in their brooder!!! I am considering temporarily keeping them in the hen house.. but there are 2 fertile roosters in there right now... will they try to mate my turkeys?

WARNING!

You should NOT keep Turkeys and chickens together.

Chickens can get blackhead but is not a problem for chickens.

It can be fatal to Turkeys.

That is only an issue if you have blackhead on your property already. I know of several folks who house their chickens along with their turkeys without issue.

As far as your roosters mounting the turkey hens...I've no idea on that.

THank you for your concerns. Blackhead is not always a problem in all areas. My area for instance, there is no problem with it, in turkeys or chickens... I have called the local ag office. And a great many people, seems especially in the SouthEast keep turkeys & chickens together successfully in small flocks.

I DO thank you, because it can be very dangerous and it's important for everyone to know all the facts! If I didn't already know I would be EXTRA grateful that you cared enough to warn me.. so thank you.

But anyone know about the rooster/turkey hen part of the question?

My guess is, there's no telling. I mean people on these boards have talked about chickens and turkeys trying to mount THEM (people)--so maybe.

I used to have a rooster that was very much "in love" with my turkey hen. It was never a problem. It seemed consensual.
