Will one of my chickens adopt the chick?

Hi. I am about to start incubating an egg, so I was wondering if one of my three hens will adopt the chick once it hatches. I don't think any of them are broody and they have only started laying eggs for about a month. What do you think?

I'm sorry to say, but if none of your hens are broody, they will not accept the chick and will most likely kill it. Your best choice is to hatch and raise it yourself and when it's old enough, introduce it to your other birds. It's very unlikely that an non-broody pullet will adopt a chick.

I would nix that idea, chickens are very strict in pecking order, and a chick wouldn't last very long.
