will pen raised quail breed and survive in the wild

My area was depleted of bobwhite quail entirely. My area has decent habitat, but I've spent years improving it with different plantings and controlled burns.
People who tell you it can't be done are just going by what they've read online.

...so yes it can be done. The people who tell you otherwise haven't tried it or haven't done it right...

I see your point of view, but there's a lot of people that have tried it and have found it failed for one reason or another, and that's why they say it can't be done, not necessarily because of 'what they've read online'.

The main reason for failure is an unsuitable environment. I'm pretty sure I covered most reasons why it tends to fail, before, and others have also contributed reasons why re-naturalization attempts often fail. Taking those issues into consideration, and looking up info on how animals are rehabilitated to survive in the wild, will help the OP.

It pays to remember not all animals can be rehabbed to being able to survive in the wild. Some individuals just cannot do it, and it doesn't matter if you're talking about a tiger born wild then raised in captivity for a year, or a quail. There will always be a failure rate.

Nobody is saying it can't be done, just that it doesn't work out for plenty of people.

Best wishes.
