Will Quail go into their “coop” at night?

Maybe? Quail are actually pretty hardy when it comes to cold. As long as they're dry and have shelter, they can handle freezing temps quite well. It's better to give them little shelters scattered through their run. I use pens on the ground that are half covered with tarp for shelter when it rains and I give them small cardboard boxes that get composted when they get too worn and/or dirty.
Great idea! I put one box in their grow-out cage and they loved it after they were through pecking it. I’m always looking for more things to compost. I’m gonna be the crazy neighbor that goes around grabbing everyone’s leaf backs before trash pick up.

This encouraged me to get down to my workshop yesterday and round up my scrap wood. Several hidey holes are built and ready! Lord, I hope they go inside in January. But I guess that’s why God gave them feathers.
Im sure they will be fine! When they do get cold they will go inside :) ... Mine made it through the winter ( -5-10 at night a few times) out in their aviary with a box full of hay and plastic sheets stapled up on the chicken wire walls to keep out the drafts..

Good to hear! Even if they’re stubborn, they should be just fine in the winter as long as they have a good windbreak

Ok do you think mine will be okay they are 4 weeks old now and it is hitting 4 Celsius
In about 4 weeks it will be -6 Celsius at night
and 6 weeks will probably be -10 Celsius
