Chick just hatched via incubator and has a bit of a vent issue. Maybe also a swollen belly? I'm wondering if this will heal or will she have issues in the future?

Thank you! That looks like a slightly unhealed navel, rather than the vent - the vent is higher up, right under the tail. I like to put a bit of antibiotic ointment (without pain reliever) on it to prevent infection, and ensure others can't peck at it. You can place her in a cup, too, to facilitate healing. I find slight open navels like this typically heal well.
YVW! Please let us know how she's doing.Thank you!
She has almost completely healed! Looking really good. Almost 24 hours old. She was the only egg that hatched so hopefully she will integrate well with my 1 week old group once she's strong enough. Not sure what I will do if she has to be removed. She won't do well on her own.YVW! Please let us know how she's doing.
That's wonderful news! I hope she integrates with your other group well. This thread may be of interest. She has almost completely healed! Looking really good. Almost 24 hours old.
