This is my beloved Janie. She’s an Araucana. One of my dogs almost killed her in December when she was about 9 weeks old. She has started to lay and seems healthy in all regards. This is just a cosmetic issue I think. Will she ever grow feathers or was the skin, which was pretty much torn off, too damaged?

Damaged chicken skin usually won't regrow feathers cause feather follicles aren't there anymore, especially if they had replace the skin.

Mine had about the size of a quarter or slightly bigger pecked down to her skull on the back of her head. Now she just looks like she has a weird mullet lol ! I hope yours grows some feathers as well!
Janie literally had her throat exposed but fortunately there were no punctures or internal damage. I’m glad your girl is okay. Bad hair days we can all live with ❤️
