Since we currently house our 2 ducks and 1 drake with our hens and rooster, they've been exposed to the fake daylight from the light I put in on Monday. Our 1 year old Chocolate Indian Runner finally started figuring out how to get into one of the nesting boxes. I actually found her sitting in it during the day so I'm hopeful she's going to be getting close to laying once more. Earlier this year I enjoyed finding her eggs in the old coop's nesting box.
I already know it takes a while for their bodies to start laying after having the right amount of daylight for a few weeks.
I'm also not concerned for our 8 month old laying anytime soon. Whenever she's ready, she'll lay. I just want our adult female to start laying again.

Do you think she will start laying in a few weeks?

Unless if there is a clairvoyant on BYC, it's going to be hard for anyone to tell you when she will lay. If she is laying in the nesting box frequently, it's likely she will soon, but it's no guarantee. Compare waiting for a duck to lay, to the old watching a pot boil saying.

Clairvoyant! :gig:lau:lau:lau Sorry that struck me funny. LOL I have noticed with ours that they will start laying when they are good and ready. :)
