why broody hens INSIST on sharing one nest box? Nevermind that there are tons of nest boxes available. We must all sit in the same one. I wouldn't care except that it is 95 degrees outside and humid. They are going to stroke out!
While you are explaining, will someone also explain why they won't go broody when the weather is nice out? They only want to go broody when it is hot as hades outside or when it is 23 degrees outside.

Mine will fight for the one best box. All except one hen, who will lay her egg in the middle of the run!

If one hen sits in one nest box, by golly, that must be the best one there is and so they all figure they need to be in it. Mine were all laying in one box. Then I put golf balls in each of the boxes and most of them now lay in different boxes. So you might want to try golf balls or fake eggs in each of the other boxes to encourage them to go to the others.
