will the chickens go back in there house

i have a few chickens almost 3 months old
i want them to have a lot of room
there house as a lot of room but i want them to
go in the yard as well
will they go back in the house

Mine learned immediately to return to their home

No. The first night I put them in the coop and let them out during the next day. That night they returned to their run but didn't go in the coop. I thought maybe cause the ramp was too steep. I put them in the coop myself. The night after that, they put themselves in the coop! I hadn't even had a change to fix the ramp yet but it was no longer an issue. They've been putting themselves to bed every night since
And at first they weren't roosting- they would just huddle in a corner of the coop. Now they are roosting! I'm so proud! Lol

I normally put mine in the coop with food and water for the first couple of days - they seem to return to it when I do this.

Redsoxs method is what most people seem to do. It helps the chick(en) imprint on the coop as their home, so they return at dusk.
